Four workers at the Filoli Estate in California are suing their former employer on an alleged age discrimination claim and for other unlawful and unfair employment and business practices.
The average age of the four former workers is 60. The average age of the four women hired to replace them is 31.
Three of the women allege intentional infliction of emotional distress, and the fourth alleges wage-related claims.
The complaint states that the women were subjected to “a concerted pattern of abusive behavior,” including being spoken to sarcastically, being asked to perform unreasonable work based on past requirements, and being asked to resign.
