BUFFALO, N.Y. Press Release, November 30, 2005 - At The Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project Thirteenth Annual Volunteer Recognition Awards on November 30, 2005, Robert Elardo presented Jeffrey Freedman Attorneys at Law the Small & Midsize Law Firm Award.  This award is for a law firm which has created an atmosphere which encourages its attorneys to volunteer with the Volunteer Lawyers Project and where its attorneys have followed through as active volunteers.

Jeffrey Freedman has been associated with VLP for over 20 years and was the recipient of the very first bankruptcy award given in 1993.  This year he was instrumental in bringing John Rao of the National Consumer Law Center to do a training session on the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005.  Jeffrey Freedman was also a trainer at that session.

Other  attorneys in the firm who regularly take cases include Regina Walker (VLP Bankruptcy Award winner in 1999), Paul M. Pochepan who has taken some of the most difficult cases, Jane Mogavero, Lee Terry, and Michael W. Cole.

The VLP provides a valuable service to our community and we are honored to receive this award.
