Attorney Christopher Grover was recently interviewed by WBEN News Radio regarding Tops Markets’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Last week, the Williamsville based grocery chain filed a petition in the Southern District of New York seeking to restructure its debt under the security and protection of the bankruptcy court. Chapter 11 allows a business to continue daily operations while working with creditors to come up with a plan to pay the debt. With competition from big box stores and internet-based companies entering the grocery market, Tops will need to assess its current business model, store profitability, and growing debt load in order to succeed into the future. Grover focuses his practice on bankruptcy and disability law with Jeffrey Freedman Attorneys, PLLC.
