Matthew Carroll, one of the reporters on the Spotlight team will headline an Investigative Post event on Wednesday, December 4. Investigative Post Editor Jim Heaney, will interview Carroll about the Globe’s investigation, the Academy Award-winning movie it inspired, and the ongoing scandal in Buffalo and elsewhere.
“We were astounded how quickly our story took off and how it seems to have ignited around the country and even internationally,” Carroll said. “I’m shocked that after 17 years, it’s still going on.”
Carroll is currently a journalism professor at Northeastern University. He will appear at Buffalo’s newest entertainment hot spot, The Loft at Thin Man Brewery, located at 166 Chandler Street. The Dec. 4 interview is scheduled for 7 p.m.; tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for Investigative Post members who have donated at least $100 in the past 12 months.
Tickets are $50 for a meet and greet with Carroll that runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 166 Chandler St. The price includes admission to the interview at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available online and early purchase is encouraged due to expected high demand. The meet-and-greet will be limited to 50 people.
Investigative Post events are sponsored by Try-It Distributing and Buffalocal, a collective of local craft brewers that include Community Beer Works, Big Ditch and Flying Bison Brewing.
Investigative Post is an award-winning nonprofit investigative reporting center based in Buffalo. It distributes its reporting through its website and partnerships with WGRZ (NBC), WBFO and The Capitol Pressroom (NPR) and Buffalo Spree magazine.
