This past week the staff and attorneys at Jeffrey Freedman Attorneys, PLLC, took a break from the office to celebrate Thanksgiving with families, and reflect on the firm’s good fortune in being able to serve so many clients who are in need of their legal expertise. As a gesture of appreciation for the people who have come to their offices for help with Social Security Disability (SSD) claims, the firm provided gift certificates for a Thanksgiving dinner to a number of clients who may otherwise have not been able to celebrate.
“We see so many people struggling to make ends meet while they wait for their cases to be settled,” said Lucy Licursi, a paralegal who works with SSD claims and who helped organize the gift certificate give-away. “We wanted to make it possible for those who were really in need to have a traditional Thanksgiving with their families.”
Throughout the year, the Freedman firm supports many of the charities which provide services and assistance to clients dealing with disabling diseases such as Lupus and cancer, as well as several umbrella organizations including the United Way and the Community Caring Center.
“Over the years we’ve been able to obtain SSD benefits for more than 18,000 clients, and also served individuals with Veterans Disability and Long-Term disability claims,” Licursi said. “We feel we’re on the front line for helping those living with disabilities secure a steady monthly income that, while it may be a very basic amount, allows them to face their future with the confidence they will be able to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table.”
As part of the process of obtaining SSD benefits, the firm also helps clients receive Medicare, which covers much-needed medical treatment.
“We’re proud of what we’re able to do for our clients,” said Jeffrey Freedman, managing attorney. “We hope our service to them and our reputation in the community makes us the first law firm that comes to mind when an individual finds they can no longer work and needs help getting any type of disability benefits.”
